Just a quick update: I picked a set of 'gently used' Koni Single Adjustable rear shocks from IronFreak (Cheers Ross!) on R3v, and had a chance to pop `em on last night, in place of the Bilstein Sports.
And Holy Wow! What a difference! Best $105 I ever spent! Thanks man!!
I will never go back to Bilsteins again! Can't wait to get the fronts switched over now. WOOT!
Here's my best bud Samir swapping out the RSMs from my old Bilsteins to the Konis.
Thanks for the assistance, Samir!Originally posted by LJ851kingston is the play by play announcer for this thread.

I swung by Bob's today to have a quick chin wag and pick up a new glove box handle he'd ordered for me. Snapped a couple of pics of the dis-assembled S52 bottom-end parts while I was there...
My empty S52 block
All the pistons, labeled for each cylinder
Blurry photo of the front & rear covers.
The covers will be media blasted, then possibly painted. Bob's got the new hone tool now, and a set of piston rings that we'll use to check clearances, then discard. The goal is to make sure that the clearances are in tolerance once the hone is done. If not, it's Wiseco overbore piston time...
In happier news, I pick up my new suspension setup next weekend from my buddy Ross (IronFreak). Can't wait - I'll post pics once I have it in my hot little hands. :)Originally posted by LJ851kingston is the play by play announcer for this thread.

This weekend I am road tripping to Omaha to hang with my buds Adam Kemmerle & Ross Gredys. While I'm there, I'm picking up a new suspension setup from Ross, who's decided to go 5-lug. Ross has hooked me up, and I'm getting from him the following items:
*New front Koni Single Adjustables (to match the rear Konis I've already gotten from him)
* new front hubs & bearings
* control arms with new ball joints pressed in (these will go on Nikita, and Siobhan's are only bout 18 months old
* Eibach coil-over springs (F&R)
* IE spring perches (F&R)
* strut tubes that Ross has modified for me, which was darn nice of him!!!
Here's the link to a post he made detailing the process,with lots of pics:
Ross is one heck of a guy, and does quick, clean work. Let him know if you need any fab work, welding or other assorted work done.
Thanks Ross!!!!Originally posted by LJ851kingston is the play by play announcer for this thread.

Good question, IronFreak!
And Jamison, yes I do say. The gist is that because cylinder #6 was a little wonky, we're having to remove a little meat from the cylinder wall. If it is too far out od spec to use the repair rings, then I'll be boring it out and using a set of Wiseco first-overs. As I said in the very next sentance.Originally posted by LJ851kingston is the play by play announcer for this thread.

Don't you think that the previous sentace was a little obvious? Oh, you mean if we make this hole too big, this cylinder will bounce around and possibly allow air to blow by?

I'll tell you what, Jamison, when you can build an engine that doesn't blow up after 2 weeks...repeatedly...you can tell me what is and isn't obvious about motor builds.
For example, you could say: "It's obvious that you shouldn't do a $2,000 motor build and then cheap out and use Metric Blues at the end, to save a few bucks."
Oh wait...that's what I told YOU...before your head lifted off the block, sidelining your car...yet again.
Go crap on someone else's thread, Jamison.

I like how you misspelled sentence the second time, when you were correcting me for my spelling...
